Got hit hard from a new drug that had poor results.

Shares of Elan (ELN 20.79, -12.96, -38.4%) sank 18% to $27.70 and Wyeth

WYE 39.30, -5.81, -12.9%) was down 9.8% at $40.68. The shares had popped higher after the companies said a Phase II clinical study appears to show their experimental drug bapineuzumab safely treats the symptoms of Alzheimer's disease. However, the results were not statistically significant, and the trial must be broadened to a much larger Phase III study to be considered for Food and Drug Administration approval.

thats the only thing i don't like about pharms. approval and dismissal is so fickle.
