Sometime next week, i think we can make some money on the following over the long term. AKA, these stocks are pretty cheap now. I feel that they will come back pretty soon... at least enough to make a decent profit on. If you're in for the long haul, i recommend:
Visa Visa is WAY below IPO price now. They pay a fairly decent dividend, and it's a pretty likely case that visa won't be going under. Currently at $43, this saw mid 80's before thanksgiving. This could be an easy 200% over the next year or so once markets and spending recovers. JCrew Obama is a wearing it... and the lemmings are following it. Stock has taken a beating since last year, but the past few days has already started to turn around since word got out that mr president is sporting the jcrew wear. could be an easy 10% in a couple weeks. Geron Corporation These guys just got past the FDA for stem cell research. stock jumped over 40% today. There will probably be some backlash for shorts, so maybe tuesday or wednesday, can get in at a slightly lower price and hang on for the ride. Stem Cell is a huge area and i see this only growing. Diamond Foods These guys make pop secret popcorn, Emerland nuts, and many other common food stuffs. They recently published a 4.5 cent dividend per share (which means they are doing well) and they have an annalist meeting on the 27th of january. If that meeting goes well, you can bet the day after is going to have a nice bump. With the release of the dividend, i have strong faith that the meeting will go well and the next trading day is going to see some nice gains. get in cheap, ride the gains, and long for the dividend. |

bingo!
Visa Inc. Announces Quarterly Dividend - Yahoo! Finance this is down from their dividend last session at .405 cents, but many have pulled their dividends entirely. plus, their stock is WAY cheaper right now ($20 cheaper in fact). buy buy buy buy buy. its going to be a nice ride over 2009. earnings in, visa is up up up.
you could have made nearly 25% on visa like i did if you bought when i suggested (around $43) and held through today and counting. (at 52.20 and rising afterhours)

it's hard to make a big buy on a $40 stock. 100 shares is $4,000. most people don't have that sitting in a cash account. it's usually already invested in something.
