Hi. I'm a job hopper; therefore, I don't put money in any company 401k. However, I do have a Roth IRA account, which I max it every year. Besides Roth IRA, what else I can put my money into? As I have no experience in stocks, I have no plan to put the money in because it's just blind investing in my opinion. Thanks.<br />

Consider an invesstemnt in a , or group og, mutual funds. Let someone who does know about stocks pick them for you and pay that person (in the form of management fees) for doing so. Vanguard is a good place to start to look.

I like tax-free muniple bonds. Just roll the interest back in till you need to draw. It's a low-risk, steady investment.

A solid rule of thumb is to save at least 10% of your income specifiacally for retirement. After you put money in your 401k or Roth IRA, put the rest in mutual funds.
If you can find a respectable advisor to make fund suggestions for you, you will have a better chance to get strong returns. |

Well the first thing I would advise would be to put your first savings into Roth's so you already have that covered.
Secondly look into Mutual Funds. These funds are managed by experts in their particular funds (so it is not blind investing since you have professionals doing your bidding) These mutual funds can cover either STOCKS, BONDS, CASH (SHORT TERM FUNDS), or a combination of these. So you can pick what kind of risks you want to take. Only buy No Load funds (no fees to purchase) and the ones with the lowest expenses you can find.(all funds have expenses) |

Think about a lifecycle or target date retirement fund. These mutual funds provide you with a diversified portfolio. You don't have to do the money management. The fund staff do it for you.
