With a $120 to $140K annual income, I do not qualify for a Roth IRA. What are some good options for me, beyond the company 401k, etc., to help plan for retirement?
Smug? SMUG? What are you talking about? This is a real question. If all you can do is HATE, go away.
With this level of income you should be able to max out on your 401(k) plan. About 15K/year.
You can still contribute to a traditional IRA with after tax dollars. The money will still grow tax deferred until retirement. If you have kids...look into 529 programs There are insurance/annuity programs with tax advantages but most of the time you'll deal with a unscrupulous salesman that just want the commissions You may want to consider Real Estate - It's a little more hands on investing but there are tremendous tax loopholes and benefit. The most important of them is leverage. Goo luck |
