Don't do that. If you are going to use a loan for housing, make it on campus housing. Honestly, using a loan off campus is silly. Living off campus, often costs more. You'll end up wasting part of your loan money on stupid things like food. On campus, you get a room, food, utilties all paid for in advance. It might be 10K for live on campus, but to live in your own apartment is more. The cost of rent and security deposits could be your housing costs ALONE.
If you can, I advice living at home with parents and commuting. This is the best option. You only need to pay your tuition and having a car is MUCH cheaper then living on or off campus. On-campus is the way to go. You also get first access to free campus entertainment-like movie nights or concerts. Plus, you are only sets away from your classes, you can run the library at the last second, you can use the computer labs and printers for free of charge. Living on campus has many more "perks" then renting an apartment. |
