It appears I am not alone. I have been pressing for Silver for a long time now. A nationally known "money guy" has an article on Yahoo! Finance regarding this same topic.
Five Factors for Favoring Silver: Why the Rich Get Richer - Yahoo! Finance Silver is currently around $12 an ounce in raw form. (You can obtain the latest values for silver and other metals at Live Market Quotes ) It spiked hard earlier this year, but look at the 10-year trend... it hasn't fallen and continues to rise. a YEAR ago, August 2005, silver was $6 an ouce. WHERE ELSE can you return 100% on your money in a YEAR.? And if you are doing silver via coins, there is intrinsic value to deal with- and it's a function of condition, rarity, and silver prices. When silver bumps 50 cents an ounce, silver ounce coins bump a LOT more than 50 cents.
