As I wait to become a probation officer..with two bachelor's degrees...I find myself having a hard time paying my mortgage. It is a fixed not an option arm...thank God....but I do not want to incur alot of debt on my credit cards...so I need to get a job quick. I can't believe I am saying this...no offense...but does anyone know if I work at Mcdonald's during the day and Taco Bell at night if that would fly. Do you think I would have to sign a non-compete? I have an excellent credit rating and will do anything to preserve that right now so I may just have to work there...ugh!<br />

As long as you do not overlap your work hours, I am sure you can work anywhere you want. Some chains are owned by the same company, try a fast food restaurant and an other job that is open 24 hours

I highly doubt they'd even ask you to sign something like that. It probably wouldnlt even dawn on them. When I was 17, I worked at Wendy's and Donato's pizza at the same time, but you'd need to make sure your schedules don't overlap.

Try working at somewhere besides fast food places like clothing stores and electronic stores. They pay tons more and are less gross to work at.

those kinds of jobs don't use non-competes. You should be ok if those are your choices. Good luck with your PO job, and you might want to look at something that pays a little more per hour like, Home Depot or something.

I give you a lot of credit! You know your responsibilities and are willing to sacrifice a lot of your time working all those extra hours. I don't know much about signing non-compete's, so I can't help you there. But keep your chin-up and never be embarassed about earning money...no matter where you work to get it.

I have to admire someone who doesn't think they are "too good" to work at McD's....... honest work is it's own reward. You will be fine, pay the bills, tighten up where you can, and your hard work will pay off in the end.
Just don't tell each employer where else you work. I have worked two competitors before out of necessity, and if you remember not to say the other's name at the wrong time, you will be fine |
