The US economy now looks likely to collapse due to the problems with the mortgage market and falling levels of worker productivity. Massive amounts of wealth is controlled by a tiny minority of parasites growing rich on the labour of ordinary workers. This elite also controls the media and government by using its money to influence politicians and buy the newspapers and tv channels. By controlling the media they have brainwashed people into supporting an illegal war where working class kids are sent to their deaths to make more money for the elite in terms of arms contracts and oil contracts in Iraq. The working class see none of this wealth and are even losing their jobs as the elite outsource their jobs in favour of 3rd world labour. Is it now time for the workers of the US to unite and reclaim the country from these corporate parasites? America now needs a true Socialist system where the economy benefits all the people, not just a minority of parasites<br />

We should just go back to our original system with checks and balances built in. It was designed like that for a reason. We are now seeing the ills of loosing grip of this system the way it was intended.

I think any ISM, is eventually going to fail !! I'm pro logic and science, using them to run the country, will make us independent of any ISM.

I know you got money and you are happy and are against any changes, earning money is not as hard as keeping it, and keeping it's value.Just look at the global economy?look at our economy? What do you see?

No. its time to get rid of the cloaking blanket called "democracy and restore our "Constitutional Representative Republic." It would would actuallly help cure many ailments at once. It doesn't mean that we will become isolationists either. It just means we will start calming alot of turmoil caused by this current system we all grew up believing was the "real" US of A. The current system is very socialist in principle, thats why restoring our old one(that none of us really know, because we never experienced what it truly offers to us because its been hidden. Restore the Republic, before it's too late..

Unfortunately, when people hear Socialism, they panic and do not realize it is a system that would benefit so many more Americans than our current system. That probably because our government is run by lawyers and out media is owned by the mega rich that prefers looking down on the poorer people. Things will never change because only millionaires can afford to run for federal offices, and they are the only ones who would not be better off from socialism.

The system you propose is not a new one: Socialism has been tried before in many countries and I can think of no reason why it would work in USA.
Socialism simply replaces many competing capitalists with one giant monopoly capitalist.
I think you are illogical (unless you are making a joke). You object to "the elite controlling the media" but you propose a small elite controlling all media 'for the good of the workers'.
Perhaps a return to a proper republican democracy that restricts the powers of government and big business, as some other answerers suggest, would actaully have a better chance of creating the sort of fair society you want?

Start with the government. Let's get rid of the lobbyists. Big business hires lobbyists to contribute funds to political campaigns. In return government jumps to whatever these businesses want. It doesn't matter which political party. Dems or Reps, they are both the same.

Because of these lobbyists we have eminent domain, huge trade imbalance with China, Made in China crap everywhere,
excessive bank and credit service charges, bad loans, lawsuit mania, unaffordable health care, trans-fatty acids in our foods, outsourced jobs, and a medical system that does not serve the people, and Walmart spreading like a cancer.

Unfortunately Walmart, Exxon, Citibank, Pfizer, McDonalds, Google, and Microsoft are your true government.

We are sidetracked with stupidities such as "the endless abortion issue", where the 10 commandments are displayed, or the "phony soldier" story, while the country is sold to the Arabs and Chinese right under our noses.
