I'm losing a lot of motivation to work right now. sucks not having something you like to do, nor get paid much to do it. August 30, 2008 is my last day here at Smith Barney. My boss is a douche and i'm sick of doing this work and not being more productive. I'm going to dedicate my time to applying for grad school. Start looking for a job in october. blah

i don't know.
it's pretty funny. i revamped my monster and dice resumes over the weekend, and i've had 7 job offers/interview requests so far today. lol none look promising... mostly distance issues. nyc, etc... if i wasn't tied down to my house, maybe, but i'm not going anywhere. I also put an app in at espn (which is 5 min from me). not sure if i want to work there... too big, too many layers, too strict, etc etc that i'm not used to... but a 5 min commute would rock. |

i have so many people calling me i don't even know how to keep track. lol
about 7 emails, mostly garbage for nyc or boston jobs (yeah, no thanks on a 2.5 hour commute) and 4 vm's left from others for other random jobs in the state. they don't tell you much on the phone so i don't even know where these things are, if they are full time, contract, etc etc....I didn't even apply for anything.... all i did was update my resume. haha |

1)staying isn't an option. the job sucks, my boss is the ultimate douche, and the job wont help me learn anything i need for success.
2)there aren't any good schools here. i'm looking top 10. columbia, chicago, stanford, ucla, and nyu 3)i want to get an internship with something that will help me for when i'm done. i can't work, go to school, and have a paid internship |

fuck i hate my job. i know i'm bitching, but i was supposed to play on the company softball team. i'm getting the feeling i shouldn't play because it would be bad to be more participative than i need to be.
ugh, i just want to ride my motorcycle all day and not deal with any of this shit. i need to win the lotto. |

ugh, i just need something to relieve stress. there is so much drama on the football team, that isn't helping much. and i don't get to ride my bike enough because we have had a shitty summer. oh well, when the nissan gets sold, that will be one less headache.

I feel ya, my job sucks ass. I sit on my ass 40+ hrs a week and get faaaaaat. The money is nice(especially for the area ~60k this year and no college), but not worth it in a lot of reguards. If it wasn't for my son I'd be out in a heart beat. I often feel that this place has devoured my soul, and I'm only an empty shell of who I was.

Well, i had my pre-lim interview with the recruiting firm this morning.
It's a little different set up.... basically, i'll be a w2 employee of the recruiter firm, as 'on site' at the real job. They offer full benefits, 401k, etc through them too, so that's a huge plus. I thought moving to contracting i wouldn't get it. Plus,. they pay hourly, so any hour worked = paid for. everything is going smooth... they are submitting me as an applicant to the real firm I will be working at, and I have a phone interview with them on thursday which will most likely spawn a face-to-face with them shortly there after. sep 1st, new job? maybe ![]() |

noot, $60k is great for no college. Take advantage of getting some money saved.
B, good luck on the job. Sounds like a good opportunity. I'm still looking. Quite a few applications, waiting on some call backs. hopefully I can get something before I leave here. ugh |

60k covers living expenses, and not much else. I do put 5% into the company 401k. Plus I'm having trouble refi-ing the house. The divorce is done, but not the property disbursment, so she's still on the deed. Now my rate just went variable.
