well, the dream of a sick rhd, full drift car has come to an end. i took it to the shop yesterday and the skirt on the engine bay is toast. it was originally fixed after i bought the car. well, the damage separated the welds holding it together. i can't believe i actually drove it a couple times, even though it was to get insurance to look at it. that could have been bad. it would cost more to fix and sell as a whole than if i were to keep the insurance money and part it out.
time to pull everything out. engine, wheels, 5 lug and big brakes, the shell is going too. |

why don't you just pick up another s13 and put your stuff on it, then sell that one?
can probably get a good chunk for a 5lug sr20 s13 in good shape |

well, the car is fixable, just not how i was driving it.
if i were to get another car, i might sell it for $9k tops. if i part it out for even $8000 (which is easily doable) i'll have the $1500 from insurance and i'll come out on top. it's pretty much lose/lose. after the 30th, i'll only be out time since i wont be working. but if i do the work and buy a shell, etc i'll be out time and money. |
