co-lo with software updates/storage
i'm looking for information on some companies that may offer co-lo server banks with the possibility of updating software, os, etc.
possible investment for a client. he seems to think he is coming up with new technology and wants to get invested to some companies that do this. any ideas? |

a co-lo is a co-lo. They offer space and power, and that's about it.
you supply the machines, the racks, the bandwidth, the tech, etc etc If you're looking for a managed solution, most of the time, it's in a leased environement. look into theplanet.com rackspace.com softlayer.com <-- what i use switchanddata.com |

eh, we are looking for companies that have investors. is it going to be all private/small businesses or are there any publicly traded companies that supply stuff like this. ugh, i hate my job.

they are so expensive. don't know how they are still in business. their servers are litterally double the cost of everywhere else for the same thing

I don't know much about them. I just read a little of the prospectus. probably targets companies who are hands off and just want to pay extra for a big name.
