Ok, so i'm working on fixing the nissan and getting it sold...still....
when i sell it, i want to get something for both DD and something fun. But the predicament lies within the possibility of going to grad school next september. So...should i buy a cheapo honda, say under $5k and just pay cash for it. good gas and easily sellable. but very boring and no mods other than maybe wheels and a stereo. Or should I get something I want, like a 350z, s2k, or something else in the $20k range and take out a loan? I have the bike, which will probably get sold if i go to New York for grad school. i'm gonna keep it if I go to Cali for grad school. |

because i need to enhance my options for making more money. my degree is worthless, i might as well not have a b.a. so i'm trying to enhance my toolbox. finance isn't like tech. you have to have the papers to show what you can do. i'm trying to get to a whole new level of pay and i need to be qualified for it.

yeah, i want to get into investment banking. compete with the big dogs.
right now i'm too extreme. one part of me wants to have a killer career doing something i love making $300k+. the other part wants to be a bum, living somewhere warm like arizona or cali and riding my bike all day and working a brainless job. i figure i'll go to school now while i'm young and when i get older, i can decided if i want to keep doing it after i pay off all my debt. |

I say go cheap. If you pay cash for something, then change your mind about school, you can sell it and be done. If you get something more pricy and use a loan to get it, you might have to hold onto it weather you want to or not cause you're upside down on the loan.

i agree with you. i'm looking at getting something like a simple 99/00 civic coupe. something clean with low miles i can drive into the ground. i probably wont lose money on it and can have it for a while. i wont give the "baller" appearance, but at least i'll be comfortable. when i get done with school or get a new job, i'll go out and get something really special. Like the new GTR.
