It's not the Governments job to help local business prosper or tell people how to run their cities. I live a half hour away from Detroit and I agree something needs to be done, but the Government doesn't provide answers. Thing is, if they helped Detroit then they'd have to help Atlanta and other declining cities.

Although I will say this. It SHOULD be the Governments job to help OUR country in places it needs it. Only makes logical sense to me. We pay taxes to them, they should use it to help the people of the US not Iraq. To a lesser extent Canada, lol joke.

The US are not rebuilding Iraq or even its infrastructure which it destroyed in violation of international law
The money they are spending there is on a billions of Dollars American Embassy (said to be the largest in the world) and permanent military bases .none of which are any use to the poor Iraqis who still don't have access to clean water have completely inadequate medical help ,and only have electricity for about 2 hours a day if they're the lucky ones
