small enough to drown it in the bathtub, they want no gun laws, they want to operate business for max profit with no regulations and no sense of responsibility to people or the environment, they wish to be left totally alone w/o any organizing body telling them what they can and cannot do, to have absolute liberty, no taxes (except, of course, for the military to protect their stuff), and believe that government is harmful and unnecessary.<br />

That sounds more like the libertarian party. But it would be awsome if the republican party would actually do all that. this would be a better country indeed. government is the problem.

The Republican Party has always wanted small government they feel that people should have more rights where as the democrat party wants big government.
They believe in some taxes but a lot of the taxes in this country are not need, in fact a lot of republicans believe in a Flat Income Tax where everyone would pay the same percentage of their income to the government as taxes. Example Bob makes 1000 dollars in a month he pays 10% to the government thats 100 dollars to the government where as Billy Makes 1,000,000 Dollars a month and he also pays 10% of this money to the government for taxes which comes out to being 100,000 dollars to the government in taxes. There's nothing unfair about that. Gun Control is a small issue to republicans because they still beleive in the fact that people are smart, when I'm sorry america has proven over and over again they not. |

That is just Grover the neocon, telling the truth. no need to blame the repub party.
To Norquist, who loves being called a revolutionary, hardly an agency of government is not worth abolishing, from the Internal Revenue Service and the Food and Drug Administration to the Education Department and the National Endowment for the Arts. "My goal is to cut government in half in twenty-five years," he says, "to get it down to the size where we can drown it in the bathtub." |

Sure, but in my opinion they're hypocritical because the US government has never been bigger or more powerful. They're not really anarchists, they're totalitarians in disguise. They don't need to nationalise industry because they are the owners of industry: in other words the class of people who control big business are the same people who run the Republican Party and the current government. The Republican Party is their tool. They want absolute freedom for themselves only. The little guy and girl who imagine the GOP will protect their rights are dreaming.

Maybe you need some education. The current batch of Republicans are spending money like crazy and increase government entitlements.
