Default How can employers get away with mistreating employees?

I was hired by two different employers, one a designer bag company and the other a magazine editing company, both in Florida. They both treated me with no respect and did not understand their books were a financial mess due to un skilled previous workers. They both yelled and screamed and acted like they needed to take bipolor pills. Is there a Florida law to protect our rights working for these employers from Hell? I am a FC Bookkeeper and what I dont understand is how the IRS is not catching people like this that are hiding income due to poor hiring practices and trying to play my employee did not know what there doing versus I get to save some taxes by employing unqualified staff.<br />

Because employers are legally allowed to be buttheads, as long as they're not illegally discriminatory.

Funny, you got the same reaction from two separate companies.

Maybe the problem is with you and not them?

the condition of the books is their problem and is between their tax accountant and the IRS its not yours problem.
if you do not like the way you are being treated, Quit, or if you want to keep the job, suck it up and don't let it bother you.
good luck

The problem is not with her its with them and the fact that it was two different companies just suggests that it is the industry that she works in. You can expect that behavior from a magazine emplorer and especially a designer bag company. Most employers in an industry that is far from corporate will treat their employees in an unethical manner because they are used to getting away with it. No matter who you are if you put them in there place immediately..you will be treated like a human being immediately. In my experience the worst that can happen is that they begin treating you with respect or you get fired....either way you are better off. I rather get fired for demanding my respect instead of staying employed at that company only to be treated less than human. And the reason why their books were a mess is because they treated their employees so badly.
