I need to select a training topic (this is if for my Training and development class) the instructions say: Select and describe a business-related training topic (team building, public speaking, conflict management, problem solving, decision making, negotiating, interviewing, meeting management, etc.) appropriate for organizational training. The topic should permit a focus on skills rather than knowledge or information. I don't understand. Please help<br />

First you need to select one of the topics on this list that you want to write about. Your textbook will have more information on each of these and that is a good place to start. Once you have decided which one you want to write on, you want to think about what skills are needed to address this topic.
For example, if your topic was team building, your goal is to get a group of employees who work together to become a more cohesive unit. Some skills that are important are: trust, cooperation, shared responsibility for project completion, respect, etc. Therefore, you want to describe ways to create an atmosphere that fosters these skills. Respect is an essential element in any healthy relationship, whether it be at work or elsewhere. I hope this helps to get you thinking. Also, professors love to get visits from their students during office hours. They are available for two hours per week to be of help, so make sure you visit them often. Best wishes to you! |
