Default Job prospects for those involved with environment/resources in businesses?

i'm thinking of pursuing a degree that will combine business knowledge (accounting, economics, human resources etc.) with environmental studies (waste management, methods and techniques to construct more environmentally-friendly operations etc.). i'm also doing co-op, so that will get me work experience before i graduate. but i wonder, is it going to be useful in the long run? how many businesses require personnel that are helpful with running their operations in a more environmentally-conscious way? thanks a ton, i will truly appreciate it if someone who has experience with this, works in a business or is pursuing this major to answer this question.<br />

Sell yourself as someone with the business essentials necessary for whatever job you want to go for. Then add the bonus of being environmentally conscious. Unless the company is small or already on the path of running their operations in ways that you might agree with, your ability to effect change may be slim.

My company has a large force of environmental employees. They're involved in the monitoring of the environmental impact of our business and mitigating it where possible. However, environmentally minded people rarely consider the energy industry when entering the workforce. If you're looking for a challenge, see if there are oil and gas companies in your area with more information.
