Being a loan officer involves phone sales. all you need for that is to know someone in the business or make a good repour with one. I graduated with a 4 year degree in business, started as a bank teller and now im a personal banker for chase. the next step up for me is branch bank manager.
I graduated my 4 year degree in 2005, started in banking then and by 2009, if i choose, i have the ability to move up to bank manager. Get a part time job (full time if you can) in the bank so you understand the make up and how it works. There's alot of bank regulations and business sense needed for the position. As a personal banker, im the guy who assists you in funding money for retirement, while still being there to assist in every day questions. From start to finish im helping individual clients who over time become my friends and want to do business with me. Personal bankers make sometimes (commissions allowing) more then bank branch managers. but definetely get involved in a bank before you just start at the top. Know what i mean? Good Luck |
