I am studying towards a bachelor in business majoring in Managaement. I'm currently completing my first three papers, economics, management and communication. of which two contain an exam. I'm a straight A student so far with the practical assignments (with on A+) but I am hopeless at exams.

Has anyone got any tips on exams that are outside the normal exam tips?? I'm looking for some study tips or exam tips that are outside of the box if you know what I mean because I've tried them all and I am unconfident that I can pull through come D-Day.

Aaaaah Help Please!!
R T: I am in my first semester, so so far I have done two assignments for each paper totalling six, Four were essays, which I am good at, and two were investigative reports, but now I have the three final exams, which I am really nervous about, because I am no good at exams. So far I have five A and one A+ so I Couldn't call myself an A+ student ;) just an A student... But I will settle for a B in the exams...
Sorry two final exams and one Oral presentation...
No not offended just pleased with myself LOL...

Will aske about orals, but my lecturers are anal soooo I doubt i will get it LOL....

Thanks everyone for your Ideas...
I good trick to remembering exam material is to go over it right before you go into bed. Things that we do at the end of the day naturally stay in our minds longer. Go over all you can, get a good night's sleep, good breakfast, review it some more before the exam, and you should do good.

Quite obviously it is better to actually study. Usually when I have big exams, and I know they are coming, I try to read over my notes every night. The more you read it, the more it sticks in your head and you're more likely to remember it. Sometimes when that doesn't work, I actually re-copy my work. To have to re-rewrite it like that actually reinforces the memory on it. Then like the day before I have the test, I really try to do what is known as 'cramming'. The best way to do good is to feel prepared. If you need you, you can try to find another student that is having trouble. Then get with them and explain it to them. I find that actually explaining it to another person helps me remember it as well. So you may try that. Hope this helps. And good luck!

Use biofeedback.
This is a method where you train you body and mind to respond using practiced cues, such as deep breething. By repeatedly using certain techniques, you can immediatly get back to a certain physical or mental state by triggering you cue. I have used it for stress relief. Others use it for pain controll or to quite smoking. I think it can be used to aid in recall for testing purposes as well as to help calm you down if testing anxiety is part of your concern (it is for many "A" students). Here is what wikipedia has to say...... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biofeedback but it doesn't have to be limited to pain management. |

If you want guidance in the exam, look at the sky. If you want desperation, look at the ground. But NEVER ever try to look at the left or right side of you to get INFORMATION.

confront the instructor about the problem you have on exams ,and see ii you can be given an oral exam. You say that you are an A+ student, are all these marks from oral or written exams?
I don't know if you are offended but I still say ask for orals exam if possible |
