"i'm in college, just opened a savings account (first ever account of any kind lol) with bank of America, but i think i should start building some credit. the only thing to my name is my cell, which i do pay off but i don't think that counts. what's a good card to apply for that won't kill me with interest but has a fairly good credit limit?? (trying to buy a laptop for college.)<br />

i would open a credit card with Bank Of America. I did the same thing.
OR you could apply for one at Best Buy and get a lap top that way. Chances are, you are not going to get approved with anyone but your bank. Probably with a limit of 600.00 |

I've never owned a credit card in my life, and I've still mannaged to build credit. The thing I do is I have a
debit card, and i've put a revolving line of credit on it of 200 dollars. I just dont buy things unless I have the cash. If your trying to build credit, but need a laptop, you can build credit by taking out loans, and paying them back. take out a loan for your computer. Than slowly pay it back. but avoid credit cards. They are the devil |

If you are in college, you don't need to have an established credit history to qualify for a credit card. Citibank has the best credit cards designed for college students. The citi dividend credit card for students offers 0% interest for 6 months and lets you earn cash back everytime you use the card to buy stuff.
